Nordic walking utilizes specialized poles which increase the effectiveness of a typical walking program by increasing the use of the core and upper body muscles as well as increasing calories burned without increasing perceived exertion. It also eases stress on the ankles, knees, hips and back, improves stability and makes walking more fun. Poles will be provided by the instructors, Bonnie and Perry Dau. Students should wear comfortable shoes. 6 students are needed to hold the class and a maximum of 12 will be accepted.
